EasterPassion stokes your passion for The Passion of Christ through a series of messages from Thursday noon to Sunday 8pm over the Easter weekend. Receive "text messages" from 2000 years ago, as if an eyewitness of the Passion of Christ is texting you the events as they unfold.
- Messages also appear in the lead up to Easter, through the Holy Week through to the Pentecost. A few texts appear at other important times of the year in the life of Jesus, just to keep you in touch.
- The text messages are foot-noted with relevant scripture passages.
- Among the messages are all of John Paul IIs Stations of the Cross, which are highlighted by Michael D OBriens pictures from Amy Welborn and Michael Dubruiels book, "John Paul IIs Biblical Way of the Cross." Station texts are from Wikipedia.
- The order and timing of events is based on The NIV Harmony of the Gospels by Thomas and Gundry, 1988 revision. Debates about the timing of Passover are by-passed to enable Western users to enter into the experience over the course of the traditional holiday period.
- Bible verses are from the World English Bible (WEB).
- There are 3 pages of prophecies from Josh McDowells book, Beyond Belief to Convictions, 2002.
- If you happen to advance your devices date settings to see how the Appworks, you may find the messages no longer alert you having done so once already. To fix this, navigate to the settings and toggle the notifications off and then on again.
